Croatian islander & a globe-trotter
My name is Marinka and I am the owner of a family farm “Rumarinka”. Originally from the town of Vela Luka, I perceive myself both as a Croatian islander and a globe-trotter.
I spent most of my life as an expatriate working for international governmental agencies in Eastern Europe (Russian Federation and Ukraine) and Asia (the Philippines, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan).
I was also raising my two children, Michael and Luka, now adults who will hopefully continue this small business. In 2022. I returned to the island with an intention to show the best part of it to the world.
I would like my island to stay as sustainable, clean and preserved as possible. The important part of it is to promote the fellow farmers producing their food with the greatest environmental awareness.
SMALL SIZE TOURS & AUTHENTIC ARTISAN FOODS
I grew up among the olive orchards in Vela Luka inhaling at a young age the smells and flavors of Korčula island. In 2022. I returned to the island with the intention of showing the best part of it to the world. I believe that visitors to Korčula Island should gain some authentic experiences beyond Croatia’s lovely sunny beaches.
Our small-size tours offer delicious taste experiences of some of the island’s best artisan foods, including award winning olive oil, all served on the premises of hospitable local food producers.
OUR TEAM
Michael Franulović-Zigić
I am a former swimmer and a cyclist who love the outdoors! Currently I am living and working in Zagreb in the area of digital marketing. I am only a day away from Korčula island. My favorite thing on Korčula island is the olive olive. I can even fry my chocolate pancakes on it. I highly recommend checking out our rural goods if you’re planning your trip here. There is plenty to try and experience.
Luka Franulović-Žigić
Currently residing in Berlin, Germany- working full-time in a leading Fintech company. As a former waterpolo player, physical activity helps me find the balance I so crave. As a digital nomad, I have the luxury to enjoy the singular Croatian landscapes in combination with a computer job. Picking olives, drinking good wine and local snacks combined with a healthy bike ride- these are the activities I grew up with, that give Vela Luka a special place in my heart.

Indeed, showy Korčula town offers the historical city walls and fortresses that you can’t see in Vela Luka or Blato located in the less touristy western part of the island. However, the central and western part of the island is where the most vineyards and olive orchards are located and where you can get an exciting glimpse of the authentic rural countryside and meet locals less dependent and interested in the commercial side of tourism.
Vela Luka is one of the most inhabited spots on the Croatian Adriatica and it will lure you in with its unpretentious charm, and art-loving people. The ten kilometers long bay meets the town surrounded by some spectacular historic sites and panoramic views. Vela Luka is the home of some of the healthiest awards winning olive oil in the planet and some really cool local food and beverages producers.
The town center boasts the longest mosaic in the world prepared for the Guiness book of record. Close to Vela Luka, there are two curious historic sites: unique neolithic cave Vela Spila and Hum hill with 19th century Austro-Hungarian fortress. Both sites offer stunning sights of the bay and the surrounding islands.
